What ages is the academy for? LEVEL UP Coding Academy is designed for kids aged 11–17 who are excited to code!
Do I need prior programming experience? Nope! We have beginner and intermediate tracks for all levels.
What languages do you teach? We use C# and Unity for game development, with a strong focus on logic and problem-solving. These skills are applicable to other programming languages, like Python or Java.
What is the class size? After school courses have a maximum size of 18 students. The summer sessions have a larger size of 24 due to the length of camp and the desire to have student teams of around 3-4 students. We also strive to have a 6:1 student to faculty ratio, meaning we will have around 3-4 instructors per camp so that students get the attention that they deserve.
What does my student need for class? Your student will need access to a computer with a camera and microphone for about two hours. To maintain an engaging classroom experience, students will need to remain on camera for the duration of class and participation will be necessary to gain the most from the experience. There are also select free software requirements in order for students to participate, including code editors and access to the computer's terminal system (which is where our projects will run). Students will be taught how to use these softwares during class. For questions about these requirements, please reach out to us at levelupcodingacademy@gmail.com
